2022.12 German Christmas Markets (Part 7) – Five Markets in Berlin

Berlin is a large city, much more spread out than you’d imagine.  It’s home to many Christmas markets, so which markets to visit?  After using the city of Berlin’s tourism website, I narrowed down ours to visit to five.  Reasonable?  Sure, if we had a couple days, but instead we went to all of them in a single day.

2022.12 German Christmas Markets (Part 5) – Hampton by Hilton Berlin City West

The only thing to make a six hour drive under grey and overcast skies enjoyable, is to be able to do while reaching speeds up to and over 200 km/h.  When presented with the opportunity on Germany’s Autobahns, a lead foot is a must-have.  After a full day of driving, we arrived at our hotel in the west-end of Berlin.  Located just west of Zoo Station, we were happy to return to this hotel.

2022.12 German Christmas Markets (Part 4) – First Christmas Market visit

During our visit with relatives, they recommended visiting a larger countryside Christmas market, the Marbeck Christmas market.  This was of a size that definitely didn’t feel like it was a tiny market in the country!  Here’s a photo heavy post from our visit to this market.

2022.12 German Christmas Markets (Part 3) – Train to Dusseldorf & Haribo Factory Outlet

Driving in the Netherlands feels like there are more speed cameras then tulips grown in the country — they’re everywhere!  Driving just isn’t the same as the joy of being on a free and clear section of Germany’s highways.  So, instead of fighting traffic at 100km/h we opted to take a comfortable train ride to Dusseldorf to pick up our rental car.
