On our final full day in Florida we visited Universal Studios. We wanted to check out the Harry Potter areas of the theme parks. And like Galaxy’s Edge by Disney, the Harry Potter areas of both parks are a must visit!
We’re not night owls. After leaving Magic Kingdom close to midnight, it was a good thing we didn’t have any park visits planned the following day. This allowed us to sleep in and have a relaxing day. Our final Disney theme park to visit was Hollywood Studios. On US Thanksgiving day. It would be a quiet day, right? Anybody but.

When you are planning to visit Disney World, and you don’t have time to visit all four parks, what’s the criteria you use? For us, our first pick was the zoo, err, Animal Kingdom!
We had the chance to spend a week in Florida around the US Thanksgiving holiday. Not only did this give us a chance to visit theme parks, but to visit them with Christmas decorations! But first to kick off the week, we need to fly there and get to our accommodations for the week.

I booked this hotel on the basis that it was close to the port and was a reasonable rate. The hotel was maybe 10 minutes from the airport, if you included the traffic jam to get past and around the traffic for all the other terminals at Fort Lauderdale airport.
