DAILY UPDATE #30 – AUSTRALIA & NEW ZEALAND 2018
Sydney – it’s not raining!
The skies cleared today after a very rainy day yesterday, and it was magnificent. We explored a couple items and have planned out the rest of our week.
Australian Museum
This museum was fairly close to us, and so we decided to head there first. The place was worth the visit in part because the breakfast they served was very tasty. The view (feature picture at the start of the blog) also helped. As for the museum it has very appropriate exhibits, such as:
And as part of the Surviving Australia section there was a whole area devoted to:
There was certainly some tough love going on in this museum. In one section that was highlighting animals that could be seen in backyards or playgrounds came complete with a snake eating a small creature. Although both are stuffed, this place didn’t sugar coat anything. The special exhibit was neat too.
Tourist Things
Then we did a few tourist things. We went up the Sydney Tower, and then made the walk down to Circular Quay & the Sydney Opera House. You don’t need any pictures of those places for today, they’re easy to find given the quantity of tourists taking pictures.
What else for the week?
Our plans are summarized to: watch a Canadian, beach, zoo, museums, and gardens. Hopefully we’re able to get all of them done. Although my cold didn’t evaporate overnight it does seem to be getting better, but after a day of a mere 10,000 steps I’m tired. I blame the lack of an afternoon nap on that.
