2024.01 Aruba, Bonaire, Curacao, Grand Cayman (Part 2)

I booked this hotel on the basis that it was close to the port and was a reasonable rate. The hotel was maybe 10 minutes from the airport, if you included the traffic jam to get past and around the traffic for all the other terminals at Fort Lauderdale airport.

Location

Fort Lauderdale port and airport feel like they were constructed for each other. If you have to head directly from one to the other, it’s a short trip. For us, there are plenty of hotel options as well. This Hyatt Place was a short walk away from a few restaurants as well as a shopping plaza, complete with a Publix. The Publix was handy as it gave us an opportunity to pick up any snacks or treats we wanted before boarding the next day. As well, the hotel had a paid shuttle service to the port we used, and was excellent.

Check-in was quick and we easily found the elevators to head up to our room. I didn’t realized until after booking, but Hyatt Place is an all-suite hotel.
Our room, was large with an open and combined space. The chesterfield was quite large, and the bathroom, and bed were just what we needed.

The bathroom has the sink and vanity in the open space, so that the bathroom was only the toilet and walk-in shower enclosure. Water pressure was fine.

The hotel also had some useful amenities, but we didn’t have time to put them to the test, being guest laundry, an outdoor pool, and fitness area.

The following morning, we had breakfast that is complimentary, however nothing to get excited over. With a scheduled shuttle bus time, we were able to take our time with breakfast. I went for a short walk around.
