No long drives today, but still I’m exhausted from what we did today.
Today’s drive was under 500 km, however we still managed to arrive at the hotel by 9pm. Unlike yesterday we arrived at a major road by the time darkness truly set in so my concern on meeting a Kangaroo this evening was significantly lower than last night.
Today we drove east starting in Mount Gambier, to arrive in Melbourne. What’s there to see between these points? Lots.
Who am I kidding? We left Canberra today, drove through both New South Wales and Victoria state to end in South Australia this evening. Why? That’s a great question!
The capital of Australia! We were up early to start our day. We are still trying to figure out if our ability to wake up is jet lag, a sign of a good night’s sleep, or our bodies still thinking that we should be getting up and heading to work at that hour. Regardless, it enabled us to see lots of Canberra, however we ran out of energy before we ran out of the list of things to see and do. Here is what we were able to cover:
We bid farewell to the Blue Mountains this morning. We stopped at a much quieter lookout, west of Katoomba and continued west to travel down the mountains and toward Bathurst. After a quick visit we then continued onward to Canberra, our new home for a few days.
