Whoops!

My plans to post twice a week encountered a hiccup where each day ended before I had a chance to get to the computer to write.  Sorry.  How about a story on the 14 day countdown from our Instagram page?

Early April at work was extra busy this year, not only because it is quarter-end reporting, but also because every time I mentioned the upcoming vacation, the universal response came in two parts.
Part one:  “Wow. How did you manage that?” That was quickly followed up with part two: “…since you’ll be away can you do these things before you board the plane?”

Outside of work, Amber and I celebrated my birthday three times!  Once with family as part of Easter dinner, a quiet dinner out, and over the past weekend, dinner out with friends.  I’m was truly spoiled, and she said it was to recognize all the years I’ve spoiled her [and continue to] on her birthday.

It’s been a busy week, and great at the same time.  So in place of a few blog posts I offered a small substitute — a daily picture on Instagram.

For those not following us on Instagram below is a sample of the 14 pictures that represented the countdown.

Lego?!

For me using Lego was a no-brainer. Since I can remember there has always been Lego at home.  Although the Lego from my youth isn’t with me, we do have some at home.  One evening recently as I was about to put the pieces away when the idea of a Lego countdown came to mind.

No seriously why Lego?

The countdown complements the two mini-figures we have as they were used as part of our cake topper at our wedding. My logic is that if we’re going on vacation why can’t our Lego avatars join us as well?

Do not get the impression that every piece will now be filled with the Lego mini-figures going forward.  We have a vacation to enjoy and I will not spend all of it behind a camera lens.

In case you haven’t checked out the pictures on Instagram here are all 14 of them:

Less than 24 hours until we leave for the airport.  More, lots more to come!
