2025.10 UK & More – Hilton Garden Inn Silverstone
We needed a place to stay near her relatives after the wedding. Most of them live in and around Milton Keynes. Know what is relatively close to Milton Keynes? The Silverstone racetrack! And guess what’s on the grounds? Yup. A hotel.
Location

The Hilton Garden Inn Silverstone is right beside the track. As in, it is directly opposite the garages used by F1, and the start/finish line. After checking in we went to our room and this was our view. (Yes we were upgraded to a track side room given it was October and there were no major scheduled events to drive demand.)
Track activities in October were all private events. Two days were used by Audi (my guess is to showcase their e-trons), and the morning of check-out, it appeared to be an open lapping event. While we sat and finished up breakfast, promptly at 9am the roar of engines came from the track users. Quite a range of cars were on the track ranging from a Caterham C7, Porsches, a McLaren, and a sprinkle of cars that looked like they were in multiple amateur race series classes. It was great to listen to them roar by as we finished breakfast before check-out.
For general layout there are four elevators, two elevators open on the first floor right by where the laundry room is located (if not, there are a few stairs to connect to the other elevators. Both wash & dry are not complimentary, however having washing facilities was handy as we needed to do laundry to last until our next laundry stop. I didn’t get a picture of the fitness room as it was being used when I looked while waiting for the laundry to finish. If you do use the laundry, an important tip — the dryer does not seem to be vented to the outdoors, so expect the tiny room to heat up while the dryer is working away. By the end of its cycle, it felt like I had made the dryer create a mini-sauna in the room.
Although the rooftop terrace was not open, and in fairness it was maybe 12C outside, the doors were unlocked and you get another view of the track from this vantage point. I did make the short walk over the bridge to the conference center that did have events being hosted during our stay.
Room
Being trackside not only did we have a view of the track, but also, we had a small balcony with a pair of high-top chairs and a table outside. Having a massive sliding door came in handy to help Little Miss have a cooler room.
To get a smaller footprint to the room, the bathroom was divided into three parts; a separate shower, and separate toilet. Then, beside the door when you enter was the sink and counter. Although, I wasn’t initially impressed, the open style closet proved useful for our stay to be able to hang items up. For me, I liked how there was a small shelf under the TV that held all the little things that could easily clutter and take over the desk. Although the chair in the corner looked comfortable, it unfortunately wasn’t. Another example of style overplaying its hand versus function.
Breakfast
Included, on account of our loyalty level with Hilton, we had their buffet breakfast each morning. The selection was good with a sufficient mix of hot and cold items you’d expect. Here’s a slideshow below:
We did also have dinner here one night. The food was good.
F1 shop
On the ground floor is a Megastore — a store that has everything F1 related available for sale. After a lot of looking we did purchase a few items, the most practical being a rain jacket. It proved useful during the trip as its long sleeves and hoodie helped to keep me dry from the rain.
One upside of visiting later in the season was that some items had significant discounts, upwards of 50%. That made the eye-watering original price, now just “expensive” to determine what items we chose.
