With a British Heritage membership in our pocket from visiting Dover Castle, it was time to make use of it. Along the route north from Silverstone to Newcastle-upon-Tyne, there were three places that were close to the highway. Due to timing we only visited one, and it was totally worth the visit, Hardwick Hall.
Staying in Canterbury for a few days, number one on our list to visit was the Cathedral, and it was spectacular.

We visited Dover Castle and also determined something worthwhile — getting an English Heritage membership can pay for itself in a few weeks depending on what sites you’re going to visit.
Relatively fresh and ready for our first full day in the UK, after leaving the London Heathrow area hotel we headed to the birthplace of motorsport in England, Brooklands. Although our GPS initially pointed us to the public park, we followed the signs to the proper entrance and explored this large museum that was a mix of open-air items, and many, many buildings.
During the Christmas season Disney offers special holiday-themed events in the evening. It does cost extra of course, but I think it was well worth the experience for few reasons.
