Relatively fresh and ready for our first full day in the UK, after leaving the London Heathrow area hotel we headed to the birthplace of motorsport in England, Brooklands. Although our GPS initially pointed us to the public park, we followed the signs to the proper entrance and explored this large museum that was a mix of open-air items, and many, many buildings.
The opportunity came up to visit the National Corvette Museum in March. With vacation already booked for the year, it would be a long weekend trip. We’d cover over 2,300km in just over two days. Who’s ready for a road trip?
To help summarize what we did while in Edinburgh, there are two parts. One for all the food, and this one for the sights and places we visited.
One of the things we wanted to see during our visit was to go to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Thanks to Pixar, the place had me thinking “This is just like the movie”, well, that’s because this was the basis used for their movie (Finding Dory).
Tickets for the Vermeer special exhibition sold out quickly, and in retrospect I’m glad happy that we bought tickets, as the exhibit lived up to expectations. But first, we had sometime to explore Amsterdam.
