I selected a hotel that was close to everything we needed, parking, and walking distance to old city and Christmas markets. We had planned to spend a few days exploring this historic city with my brother, however that would not be the case.

We arrived in Nuremberg while it was still light out. Best of all was that the sun came out during the day. Once checked-in at our hotel, and details were arranged with my brother, it would be a good evening. Dinner and then Christmas market. Little Miss was tired, so she passed on the market as we had a few days to explore this city. Or so I thought…

We are accustomed to the landmarks on our short walk from Amsterdam Centraal Station to Sea Palace from our many visits over the years. Each time, Little Miss would jokingly ask “Why don’t we stay at the Doubletree?”, as it’s the hotel that closest to the Sea Palace. For this trip I was able to make her request reality.

After a second lunch to have our favourite food at our favourite restaurant, we headed over to Netherlands’ national museum, the Rijksmuseum. It was a great day, even if we still had a bit of jetlag.
