2022.12 German Christmas Markets (Part 5) – Hampton by Hilton Berlin City West

The only thing to make a six hour drive under grey and overcast skies enjoyable, is to be able to do while reaching speeds up to and over 200 km/h.  When presented with the opportunity on Germany’s Autobahns, a lead foot is a must-have.  After a full day of driving, we arrived at our hotel in the west-end of Berlin.  Located just west of Zoo Station, we were happy to return to this hotel.

2022.12 German Christmas Markets (Part 2) – Doubletree by Hilton Amsterdam Centraal Station

We are accustomed to the landmarks on our short walk from Amsterdam Centraal Station to Sea Palace from our many visits over the years.  Each time, Little Miss would jokingly ask “Why don’t we stay at the Doubletree?”, as it’s the hotel that closest to the Sea Palace.  For this trip I was able to make her request reality.

2022.04 Amsterdam weekend, Keukenhof and Rijksmuseum Part 3 – Hilton Amsterdam

For my birthday long weekend, I selected a hotel we’d stayed at several times and quite enjoyed, Hilton Amsterdam.  Our visit was just as good as our previous stays.

2021.12 Germany and christmas markets (Part 5) – Hilton Dusseldorf

After Mainz, our next stay was further downstream along the Rhine river, staying at the Hilton Dusseldorf for a few nights.  The location afforded a good location to visit Cologne for an easy day trip.

2021.12 Germany and christmas markets (Part 4)

We had a long day of driving in which we drove from Frankfurt to Bavaria and met up with my brother.  Then we got back in the rental car and finished our day arriving in Mainz to stay for two nights.  It was a decent hotel, and the breakfast buffet selection was excellent.
