Daily Update #35 – Australia and New Zealand

Posting in transit

First, greetings from Bali!  That’s right we have a 5 hour break between flights  and are hanging out comfortably once we found an air vent pumping cold air.  Let’s get today’s post going!

Goodbye Australia

We checked out of our quasi-home hotel this morning and headed to the airport.  After spending 7 nights in the same place I admit I was getting accustom to the neighbourhood.  We arrived at the perfect time for our flight as check-in just opened and we were the second folks in line.

Uluru

Amber joked before the plane left “do you think we’ll fly over Uluru?”  Based on the route I said no, however as lunch finished we flew RIGHT over it.  What a cool final send for visiting Australia.

Bali

Bali Airport!

Once landed, and accepted as a transit passenger we were back into the terminal.  We are now relaxing five feet away from a me-sized portable air conditioner.  The terminal is beautiful but like Jakarta, cooling it is impossible. I’ll leave off for now.  If I have time I’ll try and get some pictures up and finish this update before we leave Singapore.

Hanging out in Singapore

Yup. Final update for this post. Flight from Bali to Singapore was fine. It wasn’t until we were served dinner did I realize that it’s late! As I write this my body thinks it should be 1:44am Aussie time, 11:44pm Singapore time.  No wonder I was hungry.

Singapore, again I only see the terminal for a few minutes. One day I might actually go through customs so that we can explore this city!  New flight and cabin crew are on board and our 12+hr journey is about to begin.  I certainly need some sleep as I get rewarded with the unrestricted autobahn tomorrow morning!  (Yes I’m excited about driving on a highway tomorrow)
