After getting our rental car, we headed towards Hobart with Mount Wellington set as our first stop. The way up the mountain certainly tests your driving skills. There are no shoulders, a cliff on one side — all the while managing to make sure there is space for vehicles descending and giving cyclists their space. And this was our first stop!
The complimentary airport shuttle provided by our hotel dropped us off at the central drop-off/pick-up area for Melbourne (Tullamarine) International Airport. From there it was short walk to Terminal 4 where domestic Jetstar flights operate.
I find it cool that Australia has 4 airlines to choose from for domestic flights. During the planning of our 2018 trip I wanted to try all 4, however based on schedule, price and preference we flew three of them. To help provide background on each of the airlines, enjoy this post.

As I didn’t want to drive through downtown Melbourne to the airport for a Monday morning flight, we stayed at a hotel close to the airport. This was a hotel that provided us everything we needed for our one night stay.
No road trip today. Instead we had a day to explore the city while we transferred between hotels. We had a morning flight the next day, and both of us didn’t want to have to get up any earlier than required. So what did we do after check-out and before check-in?
