The Easter weekend started well, however, not everything worked out as planned.
We stayed one night in Rotterdam before heading to visit family for Easter. The short train ride had us avoiding the extremely high hotel costs in Amsterdam. Considering we didn’t have plans to visit anything in Amsterdam for the day, it was a chance to sample another spot in the Netherlands.
Our next trip was another family trip. Originally, the idea was we’d accompany my mom to Paris in the fall of 2023. That plan and destination disappeared once she found out that there was a once-in-a-lifetime exhibit of Vermeer’s works at the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, during the spring of 2023. After a bit of juggling, the plan turned into celebrating Easter with relatives in Germany, a bunch of days in Berlin, and then Vermeer. We would then return home, and she’d continue onward to England to visit a family friend before she’d return home.
Our time on board the Anthem of the Seas had come to an end. It was time for our short flight home. I didn’t know traffic in New York City could cooperate so well!

Our final port of call had us stopping at St. Kitts and Nevis. This would also be the busiest port as two other ships, a Princess, and an Aida cruise ship were docked for the day as well. We had a busy day, and in retrospect booking a full day of multiple excursions was a bit much.
