We drove out to this small town in South Australia as Amber had found something she really wanted to see. We certainly enjoyed our time in the town. Was it worth it?
With one full day to explore the city, we certainly made the most of it. That was thanks in part with the jet lag getting us up and ready for the day before our first stop was even open!
Filled from another buffet breakfast we packed up and checked out of the Carrington Hotel. While I was checking out, a fellow guest chatted with Amber where he remarked the placed had changed since he was here for his wedding, in 1947! I overheard the conversation and he remarked that after World War 2, things were taking time to get back to normal given all the demands of Australia to supply people and materials in the war effort. We wished him well and continued our drive on the Great Western Highway toward Bathurst.

After a delicious continental buffet breakfast, we were filled with energy so we walked to Echo Point. This is the most popular of stops along the Blue Mountains. Echo Point allows you to look south over the Blue Mountains, where the haze from the eucalyptus trees in the valley changes the colour to blue, giving the mountain range it’s name.
