2021.12 Germany and christmas markets (part 3) – Frankfurt and area markets

Throughout Germany starting in mid-November Christmas markets appear.  Predominantly, they are located in city squares, however in the country side they’ll put on massive markets at a farm or even a field.  Majority of the stalls are focused on food and beverages, however, some of the best stalls to visits are the crafts for sale.  Here’s the first few we visited on our trip.

2021.12 Germany and Christmas Markets (part 2) – Hampton inn by hilton, frankfurt city centre messe

Our first hotel during this trip was a simple Hampton Inn.  It is located well for those attending the convention (Messe) centre, and it is close to both U-bahn (subway) and S-bahn (local trains) public transit, and is very close to the main north/south Autobahn (highway) traveling through Frankfurt.  Overall, it was a great stay with one small opportunity for improvement.

2021.12 Germany and christmas markets (part 1)

Before March 2020, we had a few ideas on upcoming trips.  One included traveling to Germany to visit Christmas Markets.  Obviously, due to a global pandemic and travel being significantly reduced and filled with ever changing requirements it wasn’t until December 2021 that we traveled.  And even then, traveling conditions changed, but we were able to make the journey…

2022.03 Day trip to Vancouver

Travel had not yet returned because restrictions were still in place.  In response to that Air Canada, or Aeroplan, offered up ways to achieve frequent flyer status for 2023.  After some calculations, I realized I could achieve my goal by adding a round trip to Vancouver.  However, without vacation available, it was going to be a day trip!
