We had a leisurely paced day at the Australia Zoo. This zoo, owned by the Irwin family served as the base for Steve Irwin “The Crocodile Hunter”. If you want to see lots of pictures of animals, then this is the post for you!
One thing that was high up on my list to visit was Fraser Island. Visiting the park provides many options. From self-drive and explore, to one or two day organized trips. Given our time we opted for a one day tour. It was a long day, but worth every moment.
After a day spent in Napier, we returned to the road and had one scheduled stop before ending our day’s travel near Auckland airport ahead of our morning flight the following day.
However, we ended up stopping at a couple spots in Taupo that made the return drive unique and memorable.

We had a full day to explore Napier. What’s in Napier? It’s located in a wine region of New Zealand, home to the National Aquarium, and its downtown is one of a few that were built in an Art Deco style.
