2019.06 – Paris, Le Mans, Augsburg – Part 10

Sheraton Amsterdam Airport Hotel

I booked this hotel using reward points to ensure that we’d have a short walk from hotel to the airport for our morning flight back to Toronto.

Location

Finding the hotel is easy and perfect for those transiting at Schiphol airport.  It’s less than a five minute walk to the train platforms and check-in desks.

From the shopping area and train station concourse, follow the signs for parking & hotels up the escalator.  Once across the roadway in front of the airport, the Sheraton appears first on the left — at the end is the Hilton hotel.

We arrived around noon hoping to leave our luggage before heading into Amsterdam.  Instead of dropping of our carry-on, check-in was available and an airport view room was available for upgrade.  Check-in was completed quickly and we were on our way to our room.

Room

The room was good, and the bathroom had both a bathtub and shower enclosure.  A few pictures of the room:

Dinner

Upon returning to the hotel we ordered dinner from the lobby bar.  I had the burger and she had the fish.

The design of the hotel has the elevators open to view the multiple floors, and a I snapped this one of the lobby bar as we headed back to our room.

The next morning we skipped breakfast, and checked-out.  From there it was a short walk to the check-in.
